For well over three years the members of Blackwatch Clann have played together. Through games like Dark Age of Camelot, Shadowbane, City of Heros and most recently World of Warcraft. We have known about Guild Wars for quite some time, myself being the proponent for it, but have only recently decided to make known our intentions of playing Guild Wars, given the recent circumstances which I'm sure everyone knows about ;)

Blackwatch Clann is not so much a guild as it is a community. At any given time we have people in several different games, ranging from our continued Shadowbane Chapter (BC was a part of Lex Talonis in beta and release, but are now playing under the Shipwrecked Pirates alias) to small FPS tournaments held at random times. We are not a guild built on games, rather a family built on it's members. The vast majority of our members have been with us for atleast a year, some well over three years, going back to the creation of BC.

As far as recruitment goes, BC is a fairly large guild (Around 70 active members) with close ties to each other, thus we are fairly strict about who we accept into the community. Generally it takes a sponsorship from an existing member, or us getting to know you in game. But signing up and posting on our public boards couldn't hurt ;)

We are looking to get into alpha/beta as a guild, and have more than enough active and willing people to do the job. If you'd like to know more, drop by our site at http://www.blackwatchclann.com and drop a message on our forum.

I, like others in our community, believe that Guild Wars should be a refreshing take on online gaming genre and look forward to playing. Nadric has done a good job of introducing us, and we look forward to playing with everyone.

I enjoyed the sneak peak of Guild Wars in May during E3. Looking forward to being able to play again soon.

To echo the sentiments of those posting before me, I look forward to playing Guild Wars and commend Nadric on his well-written introduction for our gaming group.

Anyone remeber Covenant of Swords? That was my guild.
Too bad your IRC chat is empty, nowdays.

How could anyone forget CoS :P
And yea, our IRC channel has been dead since SB started pretty much. Thats another thing I'd like to see come back.

Remember??! Of course...

COS is still around.. or at least they were a few months ago on Corruption. I remember there were a bunch of big SB names in COS...

and yeah... we don't use IRC much anymore. We did during the SB prerelease days. Since then, we haven't followed any game like we did SB.

Ventrilo is way better for communication than IRC is. I think its only a matter of time before every online game supports their own built in voice channels.

EDIT: Typo

I had fun playing Guild Wars during the E3 sneak peek also. There was alot of content missing, so I'm eager to see what they've added since then. I see alot of potential for unique spec groups and wide ranged tactics so I'm anxious to get in there and start crunching some numbers.

I was one of the unlucky few not to get a chance to play the E3 event of Guild Wars, but I definitely plan on making a contribution to Blackwatch Clann's involvement in the game whether it be in testing or, more likely, gold. This community looks excellently run and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone here more closely.

A lot of names here sound familiar. I've been around the block tons of times in pretty much every game that exists so it's awesome to see names that sound so familiar here.
