I heard that if you have a primaty and a seconday class that you will not be able to get all the skills of either one. But I've also heard that you can get all the skills. So I was wondering whats true.

You are able to get all skills from both jobs.
There is NO BENEFIT to having only one job.

Well, theoretically, it will take you longer to get every last skill, as the total would be doubled... But it wouldn't infringe on your abilities in any way, nor would it prevent you from getting skills for only your primary or secondary profession and none for the other. You gain skill points upon the first time completing a mission, and for every level, and for every experience bar you fill at level 20. You can eventually get every last skill for both your primary and secondary profession, it just might take a while. I believe it was stated by Anet that you will be able to switch secondary classes after pre-searing ascalon, but that won't offer any hinderance to your character.

You can get all of the skills no matter what. But that is pending on whether or not you can scrape together enough Skill Points to buy them and if you can find them all.
But that isn't to say that all of them will be effective. If you have a skill from the primary of your secondary profession, it will suck and there is nothing you can do because you can't put attribute points into the primary of your secondary profession because it doesn't exist. For instance, if you had Ranger secondary and wanted to use the skill Escape, you could do it, but it would suck because there is simply not a way to boost your Expertise.

Well you will lack in some skills from other classes, such as a mesmer/warrior a mesmer will not be able to use the Strength attribute skills that effectively.

Being single class player allows you to fully explore you primary class by putting more skill points in it. Its a bad idea unless you are a Ranger, or Elem, in my opinion.

When I played the WPE, I didnt even realise I could have a secondary class and my necro was also a warrior. I ended up spending all my resources into my necromancer side.
The benefit was I was a very versatile Necromancer.
The downside was I was only a Necromancer, nothing more.
IMO you're not as screwed as someone may tell you if you decide to be only a primary character, youre just not as useful.
