Biggest in-game Heist Ever

Basically, a Corperation (essentially a Guild) in Eve Online called the Guiding Hand Social Club managed to take down another major corperation, resulting in damages equivalent to $16,500 USD (according to IGE.com). The article shows just how much freedom there is in this game. From reading this, I might check it out.
Likewise, here's another article comparing WoW to Eve, though it's easy to also compare Eve to GW from what they say:

Wow thats complete anialation. I mean they just killed that Serpha company. The only thing is that it took a little time, 3 months is wuit a long time but I guess it was worth it. But I wonder can they still do that seeing as how its been posted all over the place and im sure ppl arent gonna get fooled by a well known mercenary. Well that was prety big though.

I started playing EVE recently, and Istvaan is a ****ing monster. He's such a good roleplayer. I love this game. My 2 week trial is almost up, and I'm going to be paying a subscription for it. THERE IS NO GRIND. You can progress your character while you're offline - No, not macroing.

P.S: How's Guild Wars? I uninstalled... Hope you're all well.

Re: Biggest in-game Heist Ever

Wow...
I suddenly have a really really strong urge to see exactly how open ended EVE Online is...

But then that makes me think, that maybe this isn't all completely "real". Sounds like awfully enticing advertisement for a game that hasn't been talked about for a while (at least I think it hasn't been talked about for a while), doesn't it?

Quote:
But EVE's most important aspects - warfare and economy - are shaped entirely by the players
If that quote is true at all, I'm sooo gonna get this game. I've been wanting a truly open ended role playing experience completely (or almost completely) run by players.

Re: Biggest in-game Heist Ever

That's how it is.

There are no classes. You can do whatever you want, because there are just skills to learn. There are 4 playable races (they're all directly descended from humans though), and you can fly anyone elses ship. You can actually do anything. It's theoretically possible to learn all of the skills in the game, but someone did the maths and reckons it'd take over 3 years, by which time more skills would have been added (very active devs).

Re: Biggest in-game Heist Ever

some not very far along in the game yet. You have not gotten to the real grinding stuff yet. You may have fun sitting one spot mining. Or taking days and I mean days for you to go up 1 stat point in some areas. To get a good char in that game take months to over a year.

The grind in Eve gets pretty high when you want to become more powerful

Re: Biggest in-game Heist Ever

So I see plus like I said it took like 3 months to pull that off, 3 MONTHS.

Can I create a trial account without using a credit-card number?

every site I've seen this posted on has people asking how to join. This is the best free publicity I've ever seen for a game ever XD
